Katy Pride - Education

Katy Pride believes all humans are are inherently worthy of being celebrated and embraced as their authentic selves. We are proud to lift up and celebrate the accomplishments and successes of LGBTQIA+ students, parents, educators and community members, and stand in solidarity with those who face intolerance, hatred or discrimination in educational and community spaces. Katy Pride connects community members with resources and support to meet their needs. Katy Pride encourages participation and attendance to local school board meetings, supports get out the vote efforts for elections, including all local elections, offers educational events for the public, and community partners, and strives to partner with LGBTQIA+ student organizations in meaningful ways. Building relationships within our community, and advocating for inclusive, equitable and affirming eudcation for all students is critical to Katy Pride's mission to empower the LGBTQ+ community in Katy and West Houston by hosting inclusive events, advocating for equality, and fostering a supportive culture of acceptance and diversity.

Title IX Discrimination

Are you experiencing hardship, or discrimination, based on your perceived, or lived, sex, sexual orientation, and/or gender identity, in an educational space? If so, your civil rights guaranteed by Federal Title IX laws may be violated. You can report sex and gender-based discrimination to the Federal Department of Education's Office of Civil Rights.

KISD Gender Policy

If you're a Katy ISD student, or parent, facing discrimination or hardship based on Katy ISD's "Gender Policy," and would like support and assistance figuring out what your options are, you can submit this Google Form and someone will follow up with you.
